Information leaflet for patients stranded at mainland airports
NHS Shetland produced a leaflet to inform patients about their rights if they have been stranded or delayed at an airport while travelling to the mainland for treatment.

Supported Self Care in Cancer
A peer support group was established in Ayrshire & Arran for patients newly diagnosed with cancer. One-to-one "buddy" support complements the clinical information already provided by staff.

A working group of cancer patients and carers has been set up to help improve cancer service provision within NHS Ayrshire & Arran. The group comments on material produced by the Board and advises other groups on involving patients and carers.

Improving access to the Patient Relations Service in Fife for the deaf community
NHS Fife asked deaf people how they would prefer to give feedback on health services. A mobile phone is now stored in a central location and is used by the deaf community for texting comments and suggestions.

Eating Disorders patient and carer consultation event
Patients and carers across the north of Scotland were consulted about the facilities and services available at a new unit for treating eating disorders. As a result patients are very happy with the new centre.

Clients completed questionnaires to gauge their satisfaction with the homeless Occupational Therapy service and offer feedback on how it could be improved.
